Clean & Simple Christmas Cards

Tami Mayberry here today. It’s no secret that I love making Clean & Simple cards.  It’s also no secret that I love using Sizzix products for those cards.  One of may favorite things to use on my cards is embossing folders. They are a great way to add texture and interest while remaining clean and simple.  Today I am going to show you three examples using the Be Merry embossing folder from Brenda Walton.

Sizzix Die Cutting Inspiration | Be Merry Card by Tami Mayberry

First up a simple white panel with a few gems added for sparkle and interest.  First, I embossed a piece of smooth white cardstock. The panel was then attached with adhesive foam squares for extra interest. Finally I added some matching self-adhesive gems.

Want a little more color? Try a darker panel with some bright and festive gem colors. The placement is simple using the embossed snowflakes as a guide.

Maybe you’re not a fan of white. This design works great with any color combination.  Here are used two shades of blue. Instead of gems I decided to use pearls. For a more distressed look you could even sand the embossed image.

Be sure to check out all of the embossing folders from Sizzix, you’re sure to find one that will make a Clean and Simple card  perfect for any occasion!

The following two tabs change content below.
My name is Tami Mayberry. I am a wife and homeschooling mom of five from the state of Missouri. My paper crafting interest began with scrapbooking in 2007; from there I moved on to card making in 2004 and rubber stamping in 2007. While I enjoy a variety of crafts, my favorite things to make are clean and simple cards that can be easily be recreated by others. In addition to being a 2013 Sizzix Brand Ambassador, I am also a designer, writer and technical editor for CardMaker magazine (Annie’s publishing) and a stamp illustrator for Gina K. Designs. Along with my regular design work, which you can find a list of on my blog, I have published three books with Annie’s and have a fourth due out later this year. While cleverly disguised as a responsible adult, I refuse to grow up and sometimes have a strange sense of humor that only a teenager can appreciate. In my “free time” I enjoy playing with paper, finding new ideas on Pinterest, bargain shopping and spending time with my friends and family. I love Jesus, color, coffee, desserts, Americana, snowmen, Sunday afternoon naps, texting and anything craft related. I look forward to what 2013 has to offer and I’m excited to work with such a great company, amazing group of artists and talented designers.
